This weekend I kicked off my Spring 2019 wedding season with two of the most gorgeous brides and grooms! Having two weddings in one weekend, I knew they would both bring me so much joy being surrounded by love and happily ever afters!
On Sunday, May 26, 2019, I had the honor of witnessing Simran and John exchange their vows, becoming Mr. and Mrs. John Rice! Their traditional christian ceremony with a kindled fire, exchanging of floral garlands, and the simplified Hindu traditions down to the 7 pheras, as they made seven circles around a ceremonial fire, each round signifying a specific blessing they request of God, exceeded all expectations!
When I first met Simran, she was kind, down to earth, and full of positive energy! She was so easy to work with. In today's world, most are holding their camera phones to capture a quick photo of the weather, their food, selfies, etc. Simran has a rare and beautiful characteristic about her that shined on the day of her "I do's." Her most important priority on this day, wasn't about the first dance, the details or capturing the best photos, but was about living in the moment! Their moment! Knowing the pictures will fade, but their memories on this day will last forever and ever. Soaking up every moment, not worrying about what most people do traditionally, but truly doing what was best for her and John. I was able to capture beautiful shots of this newlywed couple because of their genuine personalities. Simran and John are AMAZING souls!
I love how they truly did what we all should do everyday, and that's LIVE IN THE MOMENT! She and John both reminded me to put the phone down while I'm out to dinner, leave it at home while going on a walk, or place it on the nightstand while sitting in bed watching TV with my husband. She reminded me life can be amazing if you just stop, look around, and enjoy the present and those around you.
My brides and grooms all bring different and beautiful aspects to my life, and Simran and John did just this. They taught me to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and most importantly, experience life to the fullest!
Mr. & Mrs. John Rice, thank you so much for choosing me, Kristie Leigh, to capture your most adventurous day with many more to come. You brought out the best in me, and I hope you feel I captured the best in you!
P.S. Dempsey and Cookie keep bragging about them being the reason, we all met in the first place.
